Goodbye 2008, HELLO 2009!!!
When I started this blog I had the best intentions …I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences and along the way share a few pictures to keep friends, family and acquaintances updated. As the New Year has approached I realized that I let those people miss out on a lot due to being busy. Don’t get me wrong…I have a cell phone bill to prove I stayed in contact, just didn’t post it on the blog. So out with the old and in with the new….these is just a few from 2008. I atteneded a few local football games, took a vacation with some friends and my hubby, spent some time with some adorable children and if I had a spare moment found a few things to take pictures of. Hope fully the New year will bring more opportunities!!

Growing

For those of us who are parents, we know all the joys and pains of raising children. As a mother of a teenager I look back at those cute and cuddly pictures and wonder where are the years have gone, but am easily reminded by the number of grey hairs I have earned. I wish the best to all parents with kids of all ages....no doubt that you have the toughest job out there!

My BFF

When we are young we meet many people that we consider friends, it is very rare that you maintain those friendships as you grow older. I am fortunate that I met a very wonderful person in high school that has been a very close friend and we continue to support and encourage each other. I remember meeting this shy and quite person; I’ll keep the conditions in which we met to myself, but I assure you she is now far from the same person I first met! Someone once called me a “firecracker” and I find that to be a good description of my friend. She can be fun but if you light her fuse she can be explosive! She has also been there for me through thick and thin, no matter how far the miles are between us, she is always just a phone call away. I am very fond of her because she has always been honest, sometimes honesty can hurt but it’s reality that sets us straight and opens our eyes to change. There’s also the fact that we have things in common, which is always helpful. I stayed with her in July on one of my trips and we had a play day together. I wanted to share some of the pictures from that day of her and her beautiful children. (Of course I am bias) I want to remind her that over the years we have both met many people and have made many friends but she is still me BFF. I also want to thank her for the play day. The Sand Box

My husband has been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.....what we call the "Sand Box" There is a photographer in all of us. I want to share some of his pictures from his deployments. I want to send my thoughts and prayers to all those who are deployed and wish them a safe journey home. I also want to thank the heroes that were lost but will never be forgotten.

"Thank you" Amy B.

I asked for assistance in making a logo from Amy, who is a photographer for Sun & Sand Photography in Florida. ( http://sunandsandphotography.com/ and also http://the-luna-life.blogspot.com/) She was willing to help and extremely patient with me. I have never met her personally, but do look forward to the opportunity one day. As we corresponded through electronic messages she came up with some ideas just for me and I appreciate all the time she spent for me....."Thank you" Amy!

Lookin back
Looking back at my childhood, I always enjoyed have big family gatherings. Parents with Aunts, Uncles and cousins. I can remember every couple of years the whole family being rounded up like a herd of animals to get dressed up and threatened to behave just long enough to take family pictures. I can remember the year that my grandparents bought each of the children and grandchildren that one special present for Christmas. Since they could not be with each of us on a daily basis but didn't want to miss out on those everyday special moments, we each got a Polaroid camera. Some of us already had 35mm cameras, but it was not the same as holding that picture in your hand with in a few minutes, no waiting, no chance of losing the film. Many years have passed and so have my grandparents, many members of our family have drifted apart. As we have grown, moved and gone our separate ways to start our own families, we till have one thing in common, we will always have those memories with photos.
