A day to remember..
January 20, 2009 will be a day that many remember for the inauguration of the 44th president, as many people where glued to the TV or traveled many miles to see a part of history but for the children who live in my little town were only thinking one thing.....SNOW DAY, Schools closed. Being a native of Florida, I am not very fond of cold weather however a day in the snow was just the break I needed! I spent the day looking at the blankets of white snow that covered everything and it wasn't too long before everyone came out with sleds and even cardboard boxes, trash can lids, boogie boards whatever they could find to slide down hill. I enjoyed taking pictures of all the fun and facial expressions of not only people I knew but of complete strangers. No Fears....I said I lived in a small towns so pictures can be used in our local news paper....and they wont be strangers for long but until I have permission an they can be identified I wont post them... but I will share a few...

OUCH~!
I had hoped that the New Year would bring good things but If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all! If the first 10 days were any insight into how my year was going to be.....then you can find me under a rock, where I am going to curl up and hide! I think I can find one big enough to cover my caboose. I worked on New Years Eve thinking that it was one good way to stay out of any trouble, but somewhere between arguing with medical insurance companies for medical supplies for a family member, battling to get my husbands truck started and prepare our boats for winter and none of them would cooperate...(batteries dies, wont charge, buy a charger, needs gas, stabilze, hose has hole in it...etc.). My son being told he needs tutoring at school and at the same time being tested for advanced classes and his attitude at 14 of a grumpy 40 yr old, I failed a test and was suppose to be studying for the re-take, Had to have one of my dogs put to sleep for health issues, lost my wallet, did I mention my husband is out of town and the list goes on. The icing on the cake was while taking my son to school being involved in an accident....T-boned by a man with no drivers licence. We are all fine and reminded that what does not break us only makes us stronger....it's got to get better! (saying my prayers!)
